Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Invis app hiding, privacy, and screen time management
What is Invis?+
Invis is a free iOS app that helps you hide apps, lock apps with Face ID, manage screen time, and protect your digital privacy. It works locally on your device and does not upload your personal data.
Is Invis free?+
Yes. Invis is completely free to download and use, with no ads or in-app purchases. You can find it on the App Store.
How does Invis hide apps on iPhone?+
Invis uses iOS system capabilities to remove selected apps from your Home Screen and App Library. The apps remain installed but become invisible until you choose to reveal them. You can hide individual apps or create groups for different contexts.
Can I lock apps with Face ID using Invis?+
Yes. Invis allows you to lock individual apps or groups of apps with Face ID or Touch ID. This adds an extra layer of protection beyond simply hiding them, so even if someone finds the app, they cannot open it without biometric authentication.
Does hiding an app delete it?+
No. Hiding an app only removes it from visible locations on your iPhone. The app stays installed, its data is preserved, and it can be unhidden at any time. You will still receive notifications from hidden apps unless you configure otherwise.
How is Invis different from Apple Screen Time?+
Screen Time is designed for long-term usage monitoring and parental controls. Invis focuses on immediate, session-based privacy and focus: quickly hiding or locking apps for specific situations like sharing your phone, studying, or sleeping. They work well together but serve different purposes.
Can I schedule apps to hide automatically?+
Yes. Invis supports scheduled hiding and locking based on time of day. You can also use iOS Shortcuts to trigger app hiding based on location, Focus mode, or other automations.
Is my data private?+
Invis processes everything locally on your device. It does not collect, upload, or share your app usage data, app lists, or personal information. Your privacy settings and app groups stay on your iPhone.
What apps should I hide or lock?+
Most users prioritize hiding or locking banking apps, private photos, messaging apps, social media, health data apps, and work-related tools. Invis lets you organize these into groups so you can activate the right protection for each situation.
Does Invis work with iOS Shortcuts?+
Yes. Invis provides Shortcuts actions that let you automate app hiding and locking. For example, you can create a shortcut that hides social media apps when you enable Work Focus mode, or lock sensitive apps at bedtime.
Can I use Invis for parental controls?+
Invis is not a parental control system. It is a personal privacy and focus tool. However, parents can use it to quickly protect sensitive apps before handing their phone to a child. For managing children's devices, Apple's Screen Time and Family Sharing are more appropriate.
What iOS version does Invis require?+
Invis requires iOS 16 or later. It is optimized for the latest iOS versions and takes advantage of the newest privacy and Focus features.
Does Invis affect battery life?+
No. Invis operates using native iOS capabilities and does not run background processes that drain your battery. App hiding and locking happen through the system, not through continuous monitoring.
Can someone else find my hidden apps?+
Hidden apps are removed from the Home Screen, App Library, and search suggestions. To access them, someone would need to open Invis itself and know how to reveal hidden apps. Adding Face ID lock to Invis provides an additional layer of security.
How do I get started with Invis?+
Download Invis from the App Store, open it, and select the apps you want to hide or lock. You can create groups for different scenarios (work, family, sleep) and activate them with one tap. No account or setup wizard is required.
